Some websites URL are difficult to remember. How can we make a quick access to these websites without having to input the rather complicated URL? Well, you can add the address to your favorites. But an alternative is to use an URL alias.

Maxthon's URL Alias feature is used to set an "alias" for a certain website. When you type the alias in the address bar, Maxthon will navigate to the relevant URL.

Setting up an URL Alias

Open 'Maxthon options' and go to Address Bar > URL Alias, you can set up an URL alias by entering any visible combination of characters except':' or '.' . For example, you could assign www.microsoft.com to the URL Alias m. Then when you type 'm' in the address bar, Maxthon will take you to www.microsoft.com.

Warn.png When both the 'URL Alias' & 'Quick Search' features are enabled , the 'URL Alias' feature will take priority. This means that if you have the same name for an 'URL Alias' and 'Quick search' entry, Maxthon will regard it as an alias name instead of a keyword to be searched. If you prefer a quick search, it is advisable not to use the same name.
