These options are for the address bar search and the search bar.

If you use ENTER in the search bar Maxthon uses these options. If you press the icon with the globe + magnifier or SHIFT + ENTER the search will be performed by the items in the drop down menu of the globe icon. Then it's possible to search with multiple search engines at once.

Alias

This is the shortcut you can use to do a search with this search engine.
For example: 'imdb star wars' will perform a search in the IMDB.com database if you have set the alias IMDB and the engine: http://www.imdb.com/find?q=%s

Engine

This is the search engine you would like to use. Use %us (support searches in non-latin signs) or %s for the keyword variable.

Automatically highlight keywords after webpage is fully loaded

Highlight the keywords you entered in the search bar or address bar on the page.
You can also toggle this option on the search bar.

Show Search box drop down when typing search words

Show the list with search engines when you type keywords in the search bar so you can easily select the right search engine for a search.
